Over the past few years, I have been busy working on various projects that I thought may be of interest to other large scale model railroading enthusiasts. One of the most challenging projects was Building the Daylight. She steamed up for the first time last year and have been working on some improvements and finishing up the details. The Tender is basically done except for some detailing. Here's where I am so far on Building the Daylight. Been working on the skyline casing, modifying the fuel propane system and lighting. Still need to install the injectors, paint the tender, add lettering and many more "small" details like handrails, ladders and on and on... It's running great and holds a good head of steam around the track. Can go about 12 hours on a 40 lb propane cylinder. "Loosening" up the drawbar to allow for twisting and up/down movement fixed the problem of the front truck derailing. The axle pumps are working excellent and so far, trouble free.
