Getting bored...

The next big project was to get the cylinders ready.  I purchased the two piece cylinders from a club member.  The bore and stroke is 3" X 4".  I had to figure out how to bore the cylinders with the equipment I had.  The solution was to get a 1" X 12" plate and make dovetail slots to fit the cross table on the lathe.  A boring bar was made for use between centers.  I decided to go this route because I wanted a near perfect parallel bore.  I then mounted the cylinders in the lathe, and made several passes until the desired diameter was met.  Here's the setup.
